Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6th October 2026

At The Spiritual Centre, we take our professional integrity and your privacy seriously.

The Spiritual Centre has been established since 2004. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it may be used and shared, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.

This policy applies when you visit The Spiritual Centre.co.uk website, communicate or interact with us, create or use an account, purchase or access our products and services, or use any of the features and services provided by The Spiritual Centre.

Who We Are

The Spiritual Centre is operated by Bruce Clifton in County Durham, United Kingdom.

For privacy, data protection or general enquiries, please contact:

Email: bruce@thespiritualcentre.co.uk

For the purposes of UK data protection law, The Spiritual Centre is responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is used.

Information We May Collect

The information we collect depends upon how you use The Spiritual Centre.

It may include your name, email address, account information, order and transaction details, correspondence with us, communication preferences, records of complimentary or purchased service time, and technical information associated with your use of the website.

When you use one of our AI facilitators, we may also process the nickname you choose to provide when entering the conversation, information associated with your Spiritual Centre account, records relating to your available conversation time, and a text transcript of your conversation.

We aim to collect only the minimum amount of information that is legally required and reasonably necessary for a reliable, efficient service to be provided.

AI Facilitators and Your Privacy

Our AI facilitators are artificial-intelligence services designed to provide an interactive conversational experience at The Spiritual Centre. They may discuss spirituality, Ogham, folklore, mythology, personal questions, research and other subjects raised by the visitor.

When entering a conversation, you may choose a nickname by which the AI facilitator will address you. This does not need to be your legal name.

Your video conversation with an AI facilitator is not recorded or stored.

Live video and audio are used to enable the conversation, but The Spiritual Centre does not create or retain a video or audio recording of your conversation.

A text transcript of the conversation may be created. This enables the conversational service to operate, provides continuity where appropriate, and may help us maintain and improve the quality and integrity of the service.

Text transcripts are ordinarily retained for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted or anonymised unless there is a legitimate reason or legal requirement to retain particular information for longer.

We do not secretly watch or listen to your live conversations with our AI facilitators.

Our AI facilitators are artificial-intelligence systems. Although some may represent or be modelled upon real people, including Bruce the Concierge, you are interacting with an AI facilitator rather than that person personally.

Further information about their operation, privacy and appropriate use is available in our AI and Editorial Statement.

Personal and Sensitive Conversations

The Spiritual Centre recognises that conversations here can sometimes be deeply personal.

A visitor may voluntarily discuss spiritual or philosophical beliefs, health, relationships, sexuality, ethnic background or other private matters. Some of this information may receive additional protection under UK data protection law.

If you choose to share information of a personal nature, we recognise the trust you place in us and are grateful that you feel safe and comfortable doing so within the services we provide.

You remain in control of what you choose to share during a conversation.

Accounts, Allowances and Payments

If you create an account with The Spiritual Centre, we retain only the information reasonably necessary to provide and administer the services you use. This may include your name, email address, available complimentary or purchased allowance, and a record of services you have purchased or used.

Where a service provides a conversational allowance, we may keep a record of the allowance provided, used and remaining. This enables you to leave and return without losing any unused allowance and allows us to correct an account if necessary.

The Spiritual Centre does not receive, see or store your full credit or debit card details or card security code. Card payments are processed securely through WooPayments using payment facilities designed so that sensitive card information is handled within the payment provider’s secure payment environment rather than being stored on The Spiritual Centre website. WooCommerce

We may retain the ordinary information associated with a purchase, such as what was purchased, the amount paid and the transaction or order reference required to administer the purchase, provide customer service and maintain appropriate financial records. Some customer and transaction information is necessarily shared with the payment provider to process and support a payment.

Newsletter and Marketing

With your consent, we will subscribe you to The Spiritual Centre Newsletter and other marketing communications.

Why We Use Your Information

We use personal information only where it is reasonably necessary to provide our website and services, manage accounts and purchases, communicate with you, maintain security and meet our legal obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, we rely upon your consent, our agreement with you, our legitimate business interests or our legal obligations as the basis for doing so.

Who We Share Information With

We use trusted service providers to operate The Spiritual Centre, including website hosting, email, payment processing and the technology used to provide AI. They may process information where necessary to provide those services.

Where personal information is processed outside the United Kingdom, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with UK data protection law.

Cookies

The Spiritual Centre keeps its use of cookies to a minimum.

We use first-party cookies where necessary to operate the website, including customer accounts, security, shopping baskets and purchases. These are generally temporary; shopping-basket cookies last for the browsing session and the customer-session cookie normally lasts for two days.

We also use third-party services, including website analytics and services embedded within the website. These may use their own cookies or similar technologies. Where these are not essential to a service you have requested, you will be given the choice to accept or reject them.

We do not intentionally retain cookies for longer than necessary for the purpose for which they are used.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected or where we are required to retain it by law.

As explained above, written records of conversations with Ai facilitators may ordinarily be retained for up to 90 days.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information entrusted to us and restrict access to those who genuinely need it.

Your Data Protection Rights

UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal information. Depending upon the circumstances, these may include asking to see, correct or delete your information, restricting or objecting to its use, or withdrawing your consent.

To exercise your rights, contact bruce@thespiritualcentre.co.uk.

Children and Young People

The Spiritual Centre welcomes visitors of all ages. However, parents and responsible adults are encouraged to be aware of and supervise a child’s use of our AI agents and interactive services. Services specifically identified as being for adults, including card readings, are not available to anyone under the age of 18.

We have taken reasonable measures within these services to provide appropriate safeguards and a safer experience for younger visitors. Where an AI agent has reason to believe that a child may be at risk or that continuing a conversation may be inappropriate, the conversation may be restricted or ended.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the service.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as The Spiritual Centre and its services develop. The current version and revision date will always be published on this page.

Complaints Policy

If you have any concerns or cause for complaint, we value your feedback. We aim to resolve any dissatisfaction within 14 days and will contact you if this is not possible and we need more time.

Our aim is the pursuit of excellence. We will keep you informed throughout this process and investigate thoroughly and fairly until we can provide an outcome.

If you remain concerned, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
